Locking Door in Minecraft

This is accomplished by having the door's default position set to "Open", so that when power is flowing to the door, it shuts. Then it's the fairly simple (yet surprisingly unintuitive) task of wiring the redstone dust from each button through a redstone torch block, thus reversing its state (From unpowered to powered, and vice versa).

Once you've done that, the "standby" state of the wire should be powered, so the door remains shut. When you press either button, you have a short time where the button passes power through the torch, turning the torch (and power to the door) off, which returns the door to its default open position.

The lock works as a simple on/off switch. When you turn it on, power is always running to the door, regardless of what the buttons are doing. It's VITAL to keep the two redstone dust paths from crossing, otherwise all kinds of wonky stuff happens.

@KurothNeidra This is not old. It is in Alpha lol, i remember when alpha came out! Ive been playing minecraft since the very first release of indev. this i consider to be a fairly new video.

@iTzTrAx1 Well even when you wrote that it was 10 months old, which is really damn old and outdated for a game that sees weekly/monthly major content updates.

I OPed on a server before infdev even existed. I'm just not a hipster about it.

This video is OLD now. I've since created a 5 button combination locked door. The door will only open if the correct buttons, and ONLY the correct buttons, have been pressed. I might upload it sometime soon, but I hardly have time to play recently. :\

for a disposal I use a pit with burning netherrack in the bottom, it's much simpler :L

@AIDANSawesomeAREA you cant the chest carts are for carying treasure the mine carts are for riding and furnace carts are powered to push all of them hope it helps :D
