This size carp is very common in the Illinois river. It's estimated there are roughly 10,000 carp for every mile of river with the average size being 20-30 pounds. About half are common carp like this one & the other half are Asian carp which are difficult to take on a rod and reel. I've been fishing for carp since the 1960s since they have been the dominate species here my whole life. Before carp took over the Illinois river was the best in the world for game fish like bass.

shoulda thrown it on the bank and beaten it...

@FSXStuff123 Bull.
Ok, I'll state it ones again:
Carp CAN NOT spawn in swedish lakes, so they are NOT a pest in Sweden.
You can only fish for stocked individuals!
If you remove them, you'll have no carp to fish for, and that would be really stupid...

This carp was caught on NutraBaits 20mm 3D boilies with addition of Asafotidae oil.

Carp can not reproduce in Sweden and therefore they are certainly not a pest, but instead a really good sportfish!
I can understand how people from USA or Australia consider carp a pest species, and carp does ruin a lot of nice endemic biotas over there. But thats NOT a problem at all here! We have long winters and a short growing season for carp, so catching fish of this size in Sweden is truely heartbreaking!
Get perspective...
