1947, Capitol Theatre near Times Square, the stage slowly rises and Mr B is singing I Apologize, and we in the audience fall into a spellbound quiet. Damn, those were really the great days,

Incredible voice!

What a voice!!! I was introduced to him by my mother who was a friend of his. He was
rehearsing at Mr Kelly's in Chicago. It is no longer there, all the historic places are slowly
disappearing. Billy loved that Rolls Royce of his. That is how my mother knew he was there.
She saw the RR parked in garage. What a beautiful time, so much wonderful talent.

Man he could sing.

Back in the day the DJ's would have battles with Mr. "B" and Author Prysock on the radio. They would play a cut from each and we would call in and vote on our favorite. It was soooooo much fun back then. I loved them both and still do!
Flytown.

Too bad we can't get a video of "B" singing "Pandora" ... One of his greatest recordings.

I grew up listening to Mr B with mom and dad. As a young man who is aproching 70 now,but still put on some of their phonographs and listen to the smooth soulful man. I used to tease my mother because friends of theirs say my dad favoried Mr B.
I would come into the house and sing I apolize just to tease her. There is one song in particular I hope you tube would add to his collection is Pretty One which he wrote.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, sung by one of the greatest voices in history!
