@LIP15 Nitro R/C engines have a port on the crankshaft which opens for a second then when it turns the port closes.

It's not an intake valve its just a one way valve on the inlet to stop the pressure of the piston pushing the ready to go mixture downwards and out of the easiest route - the inlet. It block its off so the pressure has to force it up in the inlet "port" and into the combustion chamber.
