Takes place on the remote Greek Mediterranean island "Meis" (Turkish) or "Megistis" (Old Greek) or "Kastellorizo" (Italian/Greek) during the early years of WWII.

Meis is part of the Dodecannese (means: 12) Islands of Greece which has been left by Italy to Greece after the WWII.

Greek Sea, World War II. An Italian ship leaves a handful of soldiers in a little island; their mission is to spot enemy ships and to hold the island in case of attack. The village of the island seems abandoned and there isn't a single enemy in sight, so the soldiers begin to relax a little. Actually, the island isn't deserted and when the Greeks understand that those Italians are harmless, they came out of their hiding places in the mountains and continue their peaceful lives. Soon the soldiers discover that being left behind in a God-forgotten Greek island isn't such a bad thing, after all...

Sorry to bother you guys.. (Greek girl speaking) The girl in the film is at about 45now and she's still one of the most beautiful women in Greece. Beauty doesn't have to do with age ..it has to do with the soul and the way you feel about yourself. Some people get more beautiful as they get older. You don't shoot the old horses Ulucreis..

Okay I hate to break the love, but remember 1940-1941 when the Greek army kicked your asses and your German allies were forced to delay operation Barbarossa in order to come save you? That cost them the war. That just a fun little fact to remember some of the actual history of this era ;)
