I heard Joe W with Count Basie at Birdland in NY 1956. He was sitting at a table when Basie started Every Day and Joe entered the scene exactly in time. I came from Sweden that very day! What an experience!!!

I remember seeing Joe at the Stair way to the stars on the west side of Chicago while I was in the Navy in 1950.
