i saw her reading
there at the table next to mine
she dog eared the page,
smiled and asked me for the time
i liked the way she smiled

i asked her name
and she asked me mine,
we talked about books and how we
how we pass the time.
i liked the way she smiled

Then out in the cold
she asked if i'd walk with her a while
and i feeling bold
i took her hand and saw her smile
i liked the way she smiled

we lost track of the hour

the drizzling rain
soaked us clear to the skin
from our chattering teeth
to our shivering limbs

we did not complain
of cold as the daylight fades
we go on our way
as rain turns to snow again

She said
its getting late
and this is my door
i had a great time i said,
I hope there is more
ahead

and kissed her good night

she put her finger to my lips

she whispers softly in my ear

I feel my heartbeat racing

Her breath is warm across my skin
...

my body pressed against her hips

and when our hands have run amiss

and as the shadows sneak in

The silence ringing in my ears

Dull breath and clicking teeth i hear
...
and as my thoughts are fading
...
my resolution disappears
...

...

these words they echo, wearing thin
...
