It looks like Stefan and Elena might have some competition when it comes to being the reigning power couple in Mystic Falls. The show just cast a new female vampire named Rose, who will be played by acting alum Lauren Cohan.

She's described as a tough, sexy vampire who is over 500 years old and extremely elegant. She must be making quite the impact because the title of episode 8 is just, quite simply, "Rose." Rose's departure was Big Time Drama that was perfectly done....but not having her somehow come back...was the biggest frickin' mistake of this so so show. The Dynamic between Rose & Damon was just AWESOME.But what the hell, if the writters aren't talented enough to keep it interesting,and at the level that it was for those few episodes,then I rather she was gone.Wow,first Smallville, then the New Nikita, And now ALMOST The Vampire Diaries. I almost got sucked into watching this  Vampire show.
