The ensemble "Forza Viola" performs York Bowen's Fantasia op.41 for viola quartet, at a recital June 26th 2011 in Paviljoen te Werve in Rijswijk, the Netherlands. The players are (left to right) Kristofer G. Skaug, Roald van Os, Ton Maree and Jeroen Terstegge - acquainted through a variety of orchestras (Krashna Musika, ChoIR) and chamber music ensembles (Doro sextet). We were fortunate to have inspired coaching for this project from Julia Dinerstein. Camera work by Marianna Marras.
If you didn't sound so damn good, I would have mentioned your non-linear bowing and other visible technical defects [this goes for the 1st viola in particular] ... but you do, so I won't.... :-) You have reason to be proud: Forza Viola!

You are viola amateurs in the most honorable sense of the word... expressive, energetic, coherent, almost devoid of unpleasant tuning mistakes. And above all, with great love and pride for the music and your instruments, as behooves a true violist. Congratulations, and hope to hear more from you guys!
