Love Sculpture, sixties guitar trio, doing the Holst classical piece, Mars, from their second and final album Forms and Feelings. Guitarist Dave Edmunds has created an abridged, spacey and propulsive version, going more for atmosphere than technical guitar wizardry displayed on other LS instrumentals such as Sabre Dance and Farandole.

The accompanying slide show reflects the psychedelic feel of the track, incorporating a painting from the back cover of the LP.

  • Too bad this song was cut from the album for legal reasons. Is it available on CD anywhere?

You can buy it at places such as Amazon including the missing Mars track.

  • Thumbs up! What a great electric inferno on guitar!

  • Comments are welcome. I'm not against listening to electric guitarists, especially if it's Jimi Hendrix, but this is absolutely hellish. My favourite version of Mars is by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Steinberg.
