It was done with plugs, not seeds, of plant species that are native to northern Illinois.

Did you do this with all native plants to replicate the original plant community, or was it a native-exotic blend?

Thanks for your nice comment. It was a labor of love and appreciation of nature. Not to mention how much fun it is to see people walk by and enjoy it. They never looked at the turf grass that used to be in this square!
