Star Trek Online - Akira Escort Gameplay

This is a couple minutes of Commander-level escort gameplay. I'm piloting an Akira-class starship armed with dual heavy cannons, dual turrets, and a quantum torpedo bay. This loadout has a very deadly frontal attack, but is pretty much worthless when astern or alongside.

Hey dude nice vid, just wondering how did you manage to get 2 aft and 2 fore weapons autofiring?

Haha oh yea I forgot about that! This was shot in BETA and there was quite a bit of lag. If you managed to rightclick all of them quickly enough, the server screwed up and let you have as many autofires as you wanted.

Can you switch pov from inside to outside the ships like with the fighters from starwars galaxies, or is it always 3rd person view?

Always third person. The dev's mentioned making control from the bridge a possibility, but not anywhere in the near future. They have much bigger fish to fry.

Are you using turrets and are they any good?

What is your weapon loadout???

Yes I'm using two plasma turrets on my aft weapon emplacements. Several reasons to do this: "cannon rapid fire" also boosts turret fire speed, having the 360degree weapon fire arc allows you to have more forward burst damage for when it counts, and the take out those pesky mines that end up following you around very easily.

When I made this, the loadout was 2x plasma heavy cannons, 1x quantum torp launcher, 2x turrets (i think plasma, maybe phaser). Consoles: 2x 10% plasma, 1x 10% cannons
