Ryan Ford, co-owner of APEX Movement and AMG CrossFit, performs 30 ring muscle ups in 2 minutes and 59 seconds, achieving his 2 month goal of breaking 3 minutes. The muscle ups are done according to CrossFit standards (full extension and slight turn outward of the rings at the bottom).

Train hard and accomplish your goals!

  • and in a bar ?

  • @couillotte 2:45. bar is what i learned on and it is easier for me.

  • Agree that is baller status.

Disagree that it is CrossFit standards. Your kip has dramatically decreased the work load of the muscle-up, reducing the work capacity that CrossFit is based on. Now if you had the rings at 8 feet, extended your whole body at the bottom and then kipped your way up would it still take 3 minutes?

  • What are CF standards then? Does anyone know? I heard they were full arm extension as well as turning the rings slightly outward at the bottom.

Its an interesting question which ways takes more energy. My kip would be even more powerful if I let my entire body down. It would also take far less full body tension. So which method would take more work? I don't have the answer.

Regardless, I think my time would be about the same with either technique. Maybe I will try so we can get some answers.

  • Guys i heard something about that a muscle up is not confirmed if knees are higher than head anytime. Can anybody confirm this myth?

BTW nice tempo on them muscle ups, u make it look easy.

  • great job man ....

whats the name of the song

  • kip ups?

  • standards are full shoulder extension with rings turned out to full locked out after dip with thumbs turned out for the CrossFit Games

  • Fuk me that's impressive

  • damn!

  • I see nothing wrong with you form or technique.

    Awesome job

  • Strong!! What's that music?

  • @yankeez99 its because he's not that big that he can do it as its a body weight exercise as a 150kg guy has to be twice as strong (if not a bit more to compensate for the things that you cant really train) as a 75kg guy to do the same thing
