The Line on Cell Phones

Cell phones aren't medical devices, but because they give off low levels of radio frequency or RF energy, they're regulated by the FDA. While research by FDA and other organizations has not linked cell phones with any health hazards, FDA's concern regarding cell phones is that they could interfere with some medical devices. FDA scientists helped develop a test to measure interference from cell phones on implanted cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.
