Fantastic tutorial, i cant find the part 2 of this video, any1 have the link? Also is there a 'Fog Pass' available in the default layer setting?

Well what I would suggest is to just not use layers...and render it all out in one pass then...if that's what you want. Now if your using hardware particles for the rain..I would just make the rain part a seperate scene and render it out in a scene by itself...with alpha of course. You will have to simply composite the rain over the entire other render in something like After Effects, but it won't be difficult at all.
