  • @rmroza You have no idea who this guy is. Perhaps he needs to stress safety more but he really does know what he's doing, trust me on that.

  • before you try this at home kids, make sure you use an insulated precision screwdriver on equipment using lethal voltages ;) ...you will thank me one day i'm sure :D

  • @mushroomscouser that wasn't hash. that was a capacitor.

  • I see a sprag bumblebee

  • I have a very early silver face twin. I took the amp out of the cabinet once to spray some switch cleaner in the pots. Much to my surprise I found an ancient, small block of hash inside. I smoked it and it wasn't bad at all, just a bit rough on the throat. Thing is, the twin hasn't sounded quite as good since. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

  • Beautiful 1964 Deluxe reverb amp there, Gerald!

  • i've always biase by ear...and I haven't ever burned up an output tube, ever.

  • @deemilieu

in push-pull amps with 2 tubes, each tube amplifies one halfwave of the signal. removing one tube of a will leave you with a shitty sound at least as just one half of the signal will be amplified. also the output-transformer will be peranently magnetized which will cause your amp to break down within a month at most. i dont recommend that.

if youre interested in reducing the power of your amp, you should try to run your tubes in pseudo-triode mode or just get a power soak.
