This gentleman brings up many interesting points. At this distance from the conflict that the Confederate Flag represents it's hard to know the 'truth' of the situation at that time, but he clearly represents a point of view that, if we believe in a democracy, should be respected and listened to. I hope I was never a racist, though my backround mitigates against it, but I do know I'm not now a racist, and have never wanted to be one. Racism is in the heart, not in words.

It is refreshing to see a black man that thinks for himself and understands the TRUTHS about his southern heritage. The black southerners had the hardest time of anyone AFTER the war of northern aggression. Lincoln used the slavery issue to cover up his real agenda. To destroy the south and control Americans from that point on. Funny how not one northerner ever stopped to ask "What happens to the blacks after we liberate them?" Truth is they did not care.
