With Hope - Aidan James Phillips

Twenty weeks into our first pregnancy, we learned that our son had a lethal heart defect called critical aortic stenosis. Doctors told us that he would almost certainly be stillborn. We opted to carry the pregnancy to term, and Aidan was born on September 21, 2001. He lived for eight days and died on September 29, 2001.

This video is one I made for Aidan's memorial service. I have chosen to post it as a way to share a piece of our story with those who may be experiencing similar grief. Aidan's short life has touched many, and he is not forgotten.

We lost my baby brother at just 3 hours old on December 19th, 2001, and even that has left an ache on our hearts to this very day...it's not fair to us at the time, but now I have a beautiful 12 year-old little brother that my family adopted from St. Petersburg, Russia...so I'm thinking that this blessing is proof that everything difficult that happens to us- every door that God closes- is opened by a window later in life...even if it's a hard concept to grasp. Since 19. January 2009 I am a father myself, thank god our doughter is well and healthy. When I see this video, all the moments with the baby, I also had (and have) them with my doughter in the first few days. I just can suppose how hard it must be to loose your baby... I hope that I will never have to experience this pain. My deepest condolences to you and best wishes for you and your family for the future...

It's not fair!!!I almoust lost my little girl 6 months ago when she was born.But God helped us.I cried in a month more than a human and especially a MOTHER should.May he rest in peace and i know that he takes good care of you from Heaven.I tried not to cry as i was watching the video,but when the candel.........oh my god.....i couldn't take it.....
