@frozenskipper I'm on the fence on that one. In some ways it balances the design but it's a cleaner look without for sure. I know they were copying the Continental and trying to give the T-Bird some upscale cache and more trunk room. There's always a problem with what to do with a spare tire on a small car. Finally solved with the little spares they make today.
225 horsepower? Man, that was a lot for those days especially in a lightweight car like that compared to say a 56 Buick.
