In a far reaching project, genetic research is bridging the gap between an ancient seafaring people and their modern day descendents across the Mediterranean.

DNA from the Phoenicians is being found all over the region, especially in Lebanon. Nayla Khoury reports.

Arabic writing came from phoenicians, show some respect

  • @JabalChouf

yes im muslim from bekaa :)

  • @1aloosh are you muslim?

  • @1aloosh brother ali, all the arab countries are very recent, not only lebanon, the british and the frensh seperated the arab nation into countries, but what im saying is that the word ARAB, which means Iraab, came out from old babylon, and the ARABS (fathers of the arab raice) were assyrien poets, and they made up this GREAT language and travelled to the desert (which is now the arab pennisula) and all they did was poetry and meditation, thats y, there is no arabic history, its islamic history.

  • @hinginana

With all my respect to what u said, but none of it is true. If u wanna go back a 100 years ago there wasnt a country called lebanon, there was mountain lebanon so these countries never actually existed with boundaries.. arabs were unified back then, lebanon and syria especially have been arabs for the past 2000 years and u still say they are from different ethinicities.

  • @Tomacomo

But i can tell u that some of the christians are not arabs but that does not make lebanon not arab. Im lebanese and im proud of my arabic race, stop bullshitting on people saying ur not arab. Arabic culture, traditions, language.... etc is by far the best ever in the world. Lebanese and damn proud to be arab :)
