  • Hey, was wondering if you would give me any tips on how to start doing trips like this, Im still a young dude (18 =P) and I've been wanting to do this for a while now, only problem is noone in my family, nor friends do anything camping related. Im in Miami, Florida so i guess the most obvious place would be the everglades, but then again Im not experienced enough to handle everything out there on my own, especially for a 1st trip.. any advice & tips is cool =)

  • sure a tarp would water proof it but it would make it less hardcore lol

  • Nice

  • i think it would be neat to put up a waterproof barrier over the framework before adding the debris. and even if it was a bright colored tarp, it would have camo from the leaves.

  • have you ever worried about bear attack while you are sleeping in forest?

  • the best teachers are those who know how to learn. A+

  • one thing you could do is when you just started making another shelter (when its only the framework, no leaves) you can lay those big black trash bags over the top, it will make it 100% rainproof. Keep in mind, the trash bags are just the bottom layer, you would still need to add all the leaves and stuff.

  • Most people don't reply to me but, couldn't you take a tarp and lay it over the sticks you have there? It would waterproof your shelter then if you laid some more sticks over the tarp it would hold it in place. Then again more debris. But, if not please don't hate I'm 15 so not as experienced!! ~Matt

  • Well done! Good idea about the trimming of the framework . The stills explain a lot.

    Keep on keeping on!

  • The still shots that show the frame make this video much more clear. Good job.
