HAhahaahaha! That voiceover goes quite well with this scene from "Sanjuro," so much so that it could be the very thing that goes through Tatsuya Nakadai's mind at the moment the blood spray is turned on (Kurosawa did this in one take and Nakadai was kept in the dark until the actual setup of the scene.) The spray actually nearly lifts him off his feet because it is too forceful. But the surprise on his face is genuine, and that was an amusing illustration!

And thanks for the amusing video, a unique take on this scene, which appears a LOT on YouTube, but never like this! Actually that story came from a 2008 NYC Nakadai film festival attended by both Nakadai and Teruyo Nogami, who worked with Kurosawa on every film since "Rashomon." I believe it was she who told the story. So it is straight from two who were there at the scene!
