Oshkosh W2201 Tractor & Rogers 16 Wheel Stretch Lowboy

1947 Oshkosh model W-2201 truck tractor hooked up to very old Rogers 16 wheel stretch lowboy. This lowboy was used to haul diners and trolley cars. The youngest driver ever of this rig is standing beside it.

Truck was owned by Fulton County in NY. First a double wing plow and in last years of service a fifth wheel tractor hauling a water tanker trailer for fire fighting.

Yes, fifties Hobart welder with two cylinder Wisconsin. Need to make a new video this spring with the camera held steady and a drive by, maybe grabbing some gears and split shifting the twin stick transmission. (4 & 3)

The idle is off kilter because we have some tiny air leaks in the fuel system. Yours truly tore the crossover fuel line off between the tanks and broke off one elbow. Got her patched up and if you touched the throttle it would go faster and faster... impossible to shift and tightened some stuff up and got it to here. Needs some minor work all over but we like her. Those tires are 53" tall military 16.00R20's! The hood is hard to reach.

Old NH220 Cummins now, originally had an 893 cubic inch Buda gas engine. The Cummins actually revs higher and increased the top speed to something over 38 mph. 8.15 ratio axles and even with the .75 overdrive in the 3 speed axillary you are not going to set any land speed records even downhill with a tailwind!
