Rainstorm

I wake to hear
The storm come down
Sudden and hard
On the glass panes

Lightning flashes
And hasty wind
Hurries the rain
Down the rooftop

The rain slackens
Wind blows lightly
Gusts strong now slow
Then gently stops

With the thunder
A breaking branch
Stumbling about
The lonesome hills

Quiet returns
Sleep reclaims me
Stroked by the sounds
Of water drops

This is the 2nd version of "Cumulus Rainstorm." The 1st was a little choppy when played on YT. I decided to pull it and start from scratch. I am much happier with this one. It is far from perfect, but then again I'm just starting with this whole video thing.

The original "Rainstorm" is more raw with only the ambient sounds. I shot some night footage of lightning & thunder, and edited the footage to complement the poem more closely. The night footage is definitely more dramatic.

Then there is the background track;

Cumulus by Imogen Heap

If you don't know Immi (her nickname), you should. I think she is one of the most talented musicians around. She has 3 albums out, & she was part of Frou Frou. Remember the movie "Garden State"? When it 1st came out in 2004, the TV promos in the US had "Let Go" playing on it. That sound bite hooked me. Ive been following her ever since. If you're interested, check her out on Myspace, Facebook, & YouTube. Wikipedia has a section on her, too.

The only problem is that I do not have legal permission to use Cumulus. I just hope I wont be asked to take it down. I looped the track so that it will continue playing for the entire vid. The actual piece is more than 4 minutes long.

Ive just started with vids, so most of this is a learning experience for me. If you have suggestions, or criticisms, just comment...

Tempestad de la lluvia

Despierto para oír
La tormenta viene abajo
De repentino y difícilmente
En los cristales

El relámpago destella
Y el viento precipitado
Se apresura la lluvia
Abajo del tejado

La lluvia se afloja
El viento sopla ventea ligeramente
Fuerte ahora se retarda
Entonces para suavemente

Con el trueno
A rompiendo la rama
Que tropieza alrededor
Las colinas solitarias

Vueltas de la tranquilidad
El sueño me reclama
Acariciado por los sonidos
De las gotas del agua

  • @Verilioness ;Yes, it is. Now, if we could only do something about the government... ^_^

  • It is so beautiful there. Banana plants growing wild, palms..they need all that good rain. I know you miss winter sometimes, but you're living in a tropical paradise..

  • Thanx! A most poetic comment, if I may say so.

  • A feeling of deja vu washes over me, or perhaps a simple dream shared.

A welcome into the home of a friend, one that truely cared.

    Thanks for the video moments

    The Rev
