OrandeDale.....I'm probably too late but you need an LCD screen. A bit more involved than the digitizer. Lots of delicate wires attached to the LCD which is attached with 4 more screws plus adhesive.
if you just slip a razor blade between the 2 parts of the screen it will seperate the..."injured" section of the screen and it will work perfect again. and yes i have done it fyi.
Keep in mind that there are 2 distinct parts that make up the touch screen. 1) the two sided LCD screen itself which is about 2.5" x 1.5" x 1/8" thick. If this doesn't display or looks weird then you need an LCD screen; about $40. 2) the digitizer which is the thin transparent overlay which detects your thumb movement. If the screen displays OK but does not respond then you only need this; about $10.
To remove the digitizer.......it is GLUED on. Not actually glued but held on with a very sticky black rubber gasket. The digitizer comes out through the front. It can be carefully separated from the face plate by using your thumbnail to "unzip" it along one long edge then the other. Last, carefully pry up the top an bottom. You should see the gasket slowly letting go. Mine stayed stuck to the faceplate, not the digitizer. Once it's free all the way around carefully remove the wire.
Thanks for posting this! My digitizer went bad on my VX11000 and all I needed to know was how to get at it. Your video was perfect. I ordered a digitizer for $10.50.
I looked close at your video. My phone has the EXACT same bad spot near the left side of the screen. A dark spot about the size of a pencil eraser with two arched lines top and bottom going off to the left edge of screen.
You didn't show how to get the touch screen separated from the casing at the very end (the piece you refer to being 5 or 10 buck on ebay). I checked ebay and the pictures of the items available are just the plastic screen and I assume those would have to be inserted into the front plastic casing.
If this doesn't make sense let me know. I took my phone apart and wasn't sure how to get the plastic touch screen separated from the casing.

I couldn't find the entire touch screen on ebay? How do you get the touch pad out of the casing at the end of your video?
