OXFORD, NY The fiftieth Induction ceremony by the Oxford Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) was held at the Oxford Academy High School on March 25th, 2009, inducting fourteen new members. This annual event culminates tradition; honor and, quite often, strong emotions. The honorary guest speaker was Oxford alumna, Melissa Stagnaro of The Evening Sun, who gave this moving speech.
Melissa Stagnaro was a member of the Oxford Chapter of the National Honor Society fifteen years prior. She said she was honored and privileged to return to her alma mater to address a group of students of such caliber. Melissa said, Through our formative years, there are finite measurements of success that allow us to measure our accomplishments. Being selected for the National Honor Society is one of them. She congratulated all of the members, new and old.
Melissa represents the success that NHS students can achieve and has made Oxford Academy proud! Excellent speech!!!
