Have you tried "shooting" the the whirlpool irrigator around the walls of the tun instead of the centre section of the cooling exchanger?

@mavallarino Yep I've tried both and it doesn't make a big difference either way. It's only important that the liquid is moving around.

nice whirlpool. Do you find it really helps put sediment in the center? Are those resinated tin foil pipes floating around in the wort?

It gets the majority of sediment into a pile, the rest is spread in a thin layer. I have a false bottom so this filters it out anyway. The biggest benefit of the whirlpool is not to collect sediment but to speed the chilling time.
The stuff floating around is grated ginger root :-)
