  • Very cool but why aren't you setting an example and using your own green grocery bags. I mean, chico bags can be found virtually everywhere now.

  • You are right and I am not perfect. Are you? I often times use a reusable bag and/or use no bag or use a cardboard box.

  • Hi John from tropical Darwin Australia.. JUST A NOTE i blew my expensive juicer up with sugar cane...ITS wood and my pieces were very small.. so be careful......

  • yes! watch out! most juicers will not process sugar cane. I have sucessfully juiced sugar cane with single auger juicer, but you need to precut the sugar cane into thin strips with no "rind" That being said, I do not reccomend people juice sugar cane, as it will ruin many juicers. Thawed sugarcane will be a little softer than fresh sugarcane.

  • John, How much were the mexican coconuts?

  • luv the Asian supermarkets - always stock up on the teas, lotus roots, and seaweed/laver. A lot of the seaweeds that John held up have been heat treated, not naturally dried, and have a flavor coating added to them. Some seaweed sources are dodgy, too - ie, contaminated water.

  • Thank you. This was very helpful

  • @okraw 1.29 ? mexican coconuts here are 3 dollars. Only place I can find them here in Omaha is this mexican suprermarket. I buy young thai coconuts at the asian market for 1.19 each.

  • woah its much cheeper there than uk asian shops!

  • Thank you John for sharing this information. It prompted me to go to a different Asian market in our town today.

Wish they had the same prices you showed! Their coconuts (Aroma brand) were $16.20 for a case of 9.

I'd love to find a place to get the Mexican coconuts. I'll have to hunt for those. Thanks for showing them because I really thought they were in the white husk like the Young Thai coconuts.

Such good info! I appreciate it very much.
