Baby Gas Drop Experiment

I've been reading a lot about foam control on HBT. Most people rave about it. I followed the instructions and put 2 drops of gas drops per gallon or wort - 7 gallons=14 drops.

Didn't work for me. I thought after the initial boil over that they started to kick in. Not so as you will see in the final frame which is a picture of the kettle after my 5 minute hop addition.

I put the drops in when the wort temp reached 205 degrees. 212 is boiling here.

Does anyone know if I put them in too late or too early or doesn't matter?

The fermcap stuff works great for me (never brew without it), but I only do 4 gallon boils in a 5 gallon pot. I can't speak for your volumes. Is this baby stuff supposed to be the same chemical as fermcap?

20L does not need a dip tube (cause you can tilt it slightly forward) and the filter is metal not cloth...you just need to pull the trigger, mate.

@jakecpunut pissed me off for a second or two. I had been reading on HBT for a few days above how great and fantastic and wonderful these were....Obviously an error on my part somehow. I will try them again.

I hate boil overs...never fails, as soon as I look away it boils over...I am sure the laws of brewing were written my Murphy.
