Video and title are self explanatory, but here are some details:

After much deliberation, I finally decided to just go for it. It's just hair, after all, and I can make myself feel better about it by donating the braid to Wigs for Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to making complimentary hair pieces for children who are not fortunate enough to have their own hair due to cancer, burns or any other number of reasons.

A personal note: everyone seems to know about Locks of Love, but I learned that they CHARGE for their wigs. That's what led me to research another charity. If you or anyone you know wants to donate their hair, please consider www.wigsforkids.org

Thank you!

***EDIT: After some research I found that Locks of Love does not charge for all of their wigs, but they do use a sliding scale based on financial need. Just wanted to be fair and add this when I learned it.***

  • Better Scissors, plz.

  • @talisstercustauri We did agree later that she shouldn't have used her small set. Live and learn.

  • Well, Locks of Love is a scam organization so it's unfortunate that you gave up your beautiful hair.

  • @athompson7 Please read the whole description. :)

  • 15 years of growing hair should = 90'' or about 7.5 feet

  • @TheCatsLastWord That's assuming I've never had a trim in those fifteen years. But really, split ends aren't pretty.

  • That wasn't very nice, nor are you very observant. I was complimented almost daily on how beautiful and healthy my hair was. Do you honestly think that if it wasn't "decent" I would have donated it? Think before you make a jerk of yourself again, champ.

  • You made a great decision. What a wonderful gift.

  • @bexnshawn Yea, that's assuming you've never had a trim :)

  • Omg :o so long haire :(

  • don't worry it will grow back :)

  • Your hair was lovely and long but you should have cut off twice the length. How did you feel when the scissors started to cut your hair?
