I was at live aid... the straits then left the stadium and did a pre planned Gig at wembley arena the same evening, thats why despite being the biggest band in the world at the time they did an early spot at live aid ( 6 pm ish ) if i remember right and they also do not appear in the end of show line up.. i also went to the gig at the arena..

If you asked me, Live 8 was trash compared to Live Aid. They need to do something like this again, 2 countries and 2 stadiums only. So far this is something that hasn't been accomplished since 1985 (if you don't compare 2005, which was total rubbish).

Mark knopfer had is own guitar playing style recognizable among 1000. He deserves respect
