I will admit the fourth one with Hilary Swank was not a good movie and did not need to be made. I saw it just once just to check it out and was okay with it- but it should have been its own thing instead of trying to be part of a series already created. I usually separate the movies with Ralph Macchio from the one with Hilary Swank. The fourth one really does not go with the original trilogy- it just seems like a story reusing Miyagi. He was more of the star than Daniel anyway. Love 1, 2, and 3.

The third one was okay enough- it just seemed like another story thought up to make it into a trilogy. I never could understand how Mike Barnes would be so difficult to fight after winning a fight against Chozen in Okinawa. I guess they just wanted to present a story showing that nobody could teach Daniel to fight like Miyagi did. Either that or they just wanted to do one with John Kreese getting revenge since the second one could not do that having Daniel and Miyagi go to Okinawa. R.I.P. Miyagi

I love Karate Kid I & II (II is my favorite), but III (with the eception of this song) and the one with Hilary Swank sucked. They should have stopped with the 2nd one.

I agree. Part 3 hasn't a new or original screenplay as the previous. For me the best part (away from the others) is part 1: Johnny and Cobra Kai guys, the insuperable "Wax on, wax off" moment and hte legendary "There is no pain in this dojo!" hehe... It has also a great soundtrack! Part 2 can also entertain Part 3, well, I must say that I'm able to watch it, but part 4?? I've never watched it more than 5 minutes. It should not exist!! :P

(continuing the previous text) The same with many parts of films: they are boring and repeated. Films like: Alien (in my opinion only good part 1 and 2), Batman, Crocodile Dundee, Gremlins, or The Goonies I guess (if part 2 is finally filmed, as it was discussed). Three parts I'd save of this kind of action movies are: Back to The Future and Indiana Jones (I havent seen part 4 of Indi but comments were not good).
