I like when Böhm is jazzed up. There are plenty of agonizingly slow performances out there. Nice to have some interpretive variety.

Della Casa sings this with the lightness that is needed... Schwarzkopf sounds like she is giving us a lecture... only Jessye Norman's I like as much but for different reasons.

Beautiful and very moving rendition by della Casa ! Makes me weep every time I hear this lied.
But why is Boehm's orchestral introduction strangely rushed....?
