  • Along with Lotte Lehmann, Lisa della Casa was the perfect Strauss singer, with her radiant tone and flowing legato phrasing. She was equally great as a Mozart singer.

  • Beautiful and very moving rendition by della Casa ! Makes me weep every time I hear this lied.

But why is Boehm's orchestral introduction strangely rushed....?

  • Lisa della Casa, Böhm and Strauss!! It's perfect this maybe some most perfect lieder

  • I like when Böhm is jazzed up. There are plenty of agonizingly slow performances out there. Nice to have some interpretive variety.

    Thank you.

  • why so rushed??????

  • Whoa! Slow down Karl!!!

  • Far too fast!!!!!!!

  • After Gundula Janowitz, probably the best.

  • So fast .Geese.Would love to see orchestral score .Korngold etc .have lush textures.Would love to see orchestrations.

  • Della Casa sings this with the lightness that is needed... Schwarzkopf sounds like she is giving us a lecture... only Jessye Norman's I like as much but for different reasons.

  • NON LA CONOSCEVO!!! ed ecco un'altro gioiello che stavo perdendo... semplicemente SUBLIME..
