Korean Buddhist Monk Drumming Contest

- Do not know when was it, sometime mid 2000s.

- Although Korean most of traditional rhythms are based on 3 beats or 5 beats or complex beats structure, Korean Buddhist monk's drumming, which has being played every morning and evening ceremony at the temple, is in 2 or 4 beats structure.

- It is because that 3 or 5 beats usually contains "delicious emptiness" among pulses and typical "Korean bouncing groove". So, those rhythmic groove has a bigger possibility of "being emotional".

- Compare to that, Korean monk's drumming delivery on 2 beats are not bouncing but "spreaded", not emotional but "spiritual" as the purpose of drumming is for "rescueing suffered being(especially "animals") in the world".
