very different from the big fire boats I'm used to: The one in Rostock / Warnemünde harbour has 2 pumps with 1500 gallons/min at 9 bar, one pump with 1500 gallons at 11bar, one with 175 gallons at 7 bar and one with 54 gallons at 35 bar; 4 foam pumps with 90 gallons at 13 bar. The 3 water cannons have each a capasity of 800 gallons/min

Fireboats were the only source of water on 9-1-1
They were the only source of firefighting water during the san Fransico and loma prieta equakes.
The USCG will not fight fire at ea except USCG vessels

The station I work at on the colorado river has and awesome fire/rescue boat but its nothing compared to this thing. 7,000 Gallons of water a minute! Thats bad ass! Were running a 28' conquest with a 500GPM pump with a single deck gun and 1-3/4" handline. But we hall ass with our 496 magnum. We have to do more water rescue and dive rescue than fires so it works awesome.

Coast Guard responsibility is to enforce marine laws, not to put out fires. Plus, it's helpful to have more resources!
