I notice that Claire was born in GuiZhou, the same birth place as my second eldest brother who has been a paediatrician for thirty-five years in Hong Kong. But we are not GuiZhou people; our father went there to work after the war as a civil engineer. Life was very hard then, my mom told me; and my brother nearly died.
