this aint that scary--- theres a 1 mile long tunnel near my house ( active) that i hiked with some friends- as a "funny" holoween prank... they decided to leave me in the middle of the tunnel at 11 oclock at night- then for just my luck- the train decided to go bye, u think this is scary? i had my flashlight in the tunnel- and was afraid of my own shaddow in there- you cant eaven see the other end of the tunnel until u make it half way

@TexasStatesman Really? It's not even as long as the Flinderation tunnel of West Virginia and plenty of people have gone in there and come out. I don't really like to disrespect anything Texan because I love my state, but this really isn't that scary.

I don't understand how this is supposed to be scary. Try Googling "Standedge tunnels" which link Yorkshire to Lancashire in the UK. The Victorian engineering in those is incredible - and the atmosphere in the disused bores is scary! In the middle there is the 'cathedral' which connect all the bores, and there are sub passages which lead to oblivion. Well worth a look on Flickr.

@bluebus270 You’ve got to be kidding? You take a boat through the Standedge canal and come out with a cup of java and donuts, people are doing it every day. Go into the train tunnel and you ain’t coming out.
