The "Train of Hope" featuring 46115 Scots Guardsman on 1st October 2011, seen from Scotsman's Bridge at Greenholme (near Tebay Services on the M1) then later at Ais Gill Summit just starting to drop down the other side.

I got the impression that the diesel was doing all the work, 46115 was making a loud hissing noise and hardly chuffing at all! 144t October 2011 UPDATE: Hmmm.... according to Steam Railway mag 46115 was taking assistance from the diesel i.e. it wasn't putting in much effort, because of the recent hot weather and the many lineside fires caused by another steam loco along the East Coast Mainline. So it hadn't actually failed it was just in throttle-back mode. No mention of the loud hissing and the rumours of a steam leak that we heard on the day.
