What do Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Barack Obama have in common? Big ears.

Why should Barack Obama be elected President in 2008? It's the ears. I mean, it's not literally his ears. It's the idea of his ears. Just like Lincoln, Kennedy, and Reagan, Barack Obama has the capacity to listen. And America needs nothing more now than a President who knows how to listen.

Obama gained national fame after his 2004 Democratic National Convention speech, but he'll be remembered by Democrats and Republicans, progressives and conservatives, as a President who listened.

I recognize there is a certain presumptuousness - a certain audacity - to this video blog. But if you want to know more about Barack Obama, if you want America to turn the page on the tired politics of the last generation, you should watch this video!

  • Nate you are going strong! OVER 1500! It's going to be exponential from here!

  • Unfortunately, it's kept pace at right around 100 per day since the start. I hope you're right, though!

Voy a seguir adelante contigo, amigo!

  • what liberal blog did you read this from. Hitler was a great orator too. Actions make the politician great not sweet words to dupe the masses

  • The blog's mine.

If you're saying good governance is about more than good speeches, I agree completely. You might consider viewing the clip again, however, since you didn't notice that was precisely my thesis.

Obama is indeed a great orator, yet like Lincoln, Kennedy, and Reagan, it's his propensity to actually listen to and respect people with opposing viewpoints that will make him a great President. It might be of benefit to you to adopt a similar open mind and habit of listening!

  • Who is Obama listening to?

  • i agree!

  • i agree and the only reason why shes winning forgiveme26 is because of that "when the phone rings" ad.its not true either!the girl put a video on youtube saying that it was stalk footage.

  • Yes, another batch of perfect points on Obama. You're so right with the comparisons to Lincoln, who always took the hard road and didn't discourage a good arguement, because he was confident enough in his ability to discern that he wanted to hear all sides. Hillary historically lacks this, as does Bush. Obama has built a career on bein a listener and making sound decisions once he knows the facts. Bush is surrounded by very smart people but he listens only to the loudest and most loyal.

  • yet another good speech from skarefamena. we need a president who listens who stands up for a country.not to bring old scars like vietnam and WW2. But listen more. I'm a half african american and half german also a staff of the boys and girls club an i say. we should not judge by the color of their skin and religion

  • Well done, thanks for the effort and it makes differences, big difference..!
