The Atheist Experience #654, 4/25/2010. Chris from Austin asks atheists Jen and Matt how they know that god isn't real. Chris quotes Romans 1 : 20 as justification for his beliefs. They tell him to actually read his bible and suggest taking some science classes as well. "Go read it and you'll free yourself."

[Romans 1 : 20] (KJV) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
[Romans 1 : 20] (TEV) Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all!

@MaRTiiaNN I'm responding to tell you to fuck off and that I have no urge to continue to have a conversation with you. This will be the tenth time I've done as much.

@MaRTiiaNN Ok, an atheist is someone who isn't a theist. There, that excludes a football. Any objections to that? So the system is simple, as you claim. Well, what is it? What is the atheist belief system? Simple or complex, I want to know what it is. I have a belief system and it has nothing to do with atheism, but if there is one as you claim, please share.

@punnet2 You're making my point for me in the football argument. Without any knowledge you can't hold any beliefs for or against it, whereas you have to do this to be an Atheist. You know about religion, I've looked at your channel and you've watched and commented about it, and you still reject a God because you have knowledge of the known Gods. What you fail to see is that there could be an unknown God so to be an Atheist is in a sense, narrow minded.

@punnet2 LMAO you just admitted that YOU "removed the auxiliary did" my sentence wouldn't make sense without the did, however, it does with. I won't be apologizing as my accusation was true. Your argument about not believing in X has another possibility and that's to not know because one believes it's unknown and possibly unknowable. I'll again say you can tell me it's the default position all you like, just because you're saying it over and over doesn't make it anymore convincing though.

Physics is too hard! It had to be God!

@MaRTiiaNN Wrong. You said "...I didn't not believe in them either...". I simply removed the auxiliary "did" to better demonstrate your inane double negative. Kindly apologize for your false accusation.
Not believing in X implies either that one lacks belief in X (the default position), or that one believes X doesn't exist (an assertion).
If you don't know about football, you hold no beliefs in regard to football -- by default. This does not require an active rejection of any claims.

@punnet2 about anything to do with Gods, whether they exist or not. So I'm not sure why you're saying I'm wrong to say this. You're proving my point in the argument about football, if you don't know about football you can't hold any belief about it (whether it exists or not for instance). Atheists reject the idea of God because they know about religion and don't accept them.

@punnet2 You're the one that said "not not believe" to begin with, I used the wording you suggested. It's not a contradiction to not know about something which is exactly what that statement is saying. I'm not sure what argument you're trying to make when you say "If you don't believe in X, the only thing to fill in is whether you simply lack belief (the default position), or actively assert that X does not exist. " because I've been arguing that I don't know and nobody knows with any certainty
