at some point in the early 60s, my father was the lead singer of The Weejuns. his name is ronnie dixon. ronnie barts was his best friend and he was the drummer. i only have one picture of them and no music. sure would love to be able to find some footage or pics.

Don Miller, the founder and leader of The Weejuns from Burlington, NC is still running his music store in downtown Burlington. I stop in frequently to travel down memory lane with him. Great guy and a great band from the golden era of music. He taught many of the band members from that era to play and of course sold them their instruments......,

Every time I hear these guys it reminds me of some of the best times of my life. I played with a band out of NC called the Weejuns and we had the pleasure of backing the Tams up several times and they were the nicest group we ever got to work with. Joe Pope would always make sure we got lots of applause from the crowd and it really made it special to be on stage with this fine group. I miss them and that time but every time I put in a CD with the Tams Medley or whatever it brings me back.

In the early 70's the Tams were still the most fun band to see. Looked like they were all having a huge time.
If you search they had lots and lots of local hits.
Man, I remember the Weejuns. Funny how stuff you forget and then one little nudge and it all comes back. These guys worked hard all the time and they were fun, not just good musicians but fun.
