This is the third installment of the history series, Victims of History, featuring Louis XVI.

I have received a few complaints about not being able to understand what is being said in the videos so I decided to adjust the voice synthesizer some. I also have another version of this video where there is no voice synthesizer applied at all except for the intro.

*For future episodes I will have both versions available.

Enjoy!

  • Also, while Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI did not have a close relationship at first you must take into consideration the fact that they were both quite young (14 and 16 respectively) and as they grew older they developed a friendship and relied on each other for support and comfort.

  • Potatoesrcool is correct: Louis XVI was the grandson of Louis XV. Louis XV did not die of tuberculosis--he died of smallpox.

Antoinette and Louis' relationship was not close at first not only because of their age, but because Louis had been raised around his three aunts, and his tutor, all of whom held very Anti-Austrian sentiments.

  • He was not the son of louis xv.

  • Louis XVI was not the son of Louis XV. King Louis XV was his grandfather. Louis XVI's father was the referred to as the 'Dauphin' not Prince Louis XV.
