Between Summer's Longing and Winter's End

Where to start. I got the title from a book, it fits my life. Things are crazy, I don't know where up is, and I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter anymore. Its all good. Lots to say so please bear with me. Gonna go in order of the vid.

Tex had to have surgery last week, we at first panicked and thought he had been shot or something had surfaced from his body cavity, he had a huge very hard lump near his flank that was literally free moving, touch it and it would roll about six inches. So the vet had to come and cut a big hole in him and get it out, it turned out to be a rare kind of tumor thingy, not dangerous, just really weird. The vet was even going with old bullet or bone at first, lol. Basically, his body made a rock like thing and covered it with fat. He's doing great, and will have another week with his stitches and will be good to go. he's already been bouncing around the pasture and rolled his drain out, LOL. The vet said he's healing great! Get well soon grouchy old man!! ;D

Red. Is doing great, soo pleased with him, he's finally gotten even enough with both sides, and overcome his mental block about his right lead canter. (for those who don't know Red is a rescue and was formerly abused/neglected, and due to it had a major foot problem with his RF hoof, he would expect pain every time he tried to canter on it, so was very resistant.) I've even been jumping him a bit, and he's improved SO much. I love his little bucks, they are hilarious, he gets nervous or spooks himself and jumps straight up in the air, LOLOLOL. He's starting to enjoy jumping and being just an all rounder, I really wanted to show him but he just isn't prepared, he still gets really nervous about trailers, (both of my rescues have reasons, one has a hole in his neck, the other a scar the whole way down his shoulder.) So its just not time, and even then he isn't competitive like Empy is. But I love him so much, almost had him 3 years, and he has really changed, he used to be a vicious stallion that would try to kill you b/c he thought every time you fed him it would be his last meal. He used to try and buck me off or rear or be a bronc, and now he just hops around every now and then to just let me know how he feels. I love him, he's my special Red waddles beast.

Empy, OMG! PSYCHO! So since the show she has gone down hill, I thought I would give her several weeks off from jumping, and then go school away. Well all the arenas are booked or not taken care of and like concrete. So we've just been putting it off and she completely lost it. In the span of the past few weeks she has torn 2 summer sheets, tried to jump into the dog pen, tried to sneak into the trailer repeatedly, tried to fight with the other horses, moped in the pasture, freaked out for over an hour b/c someone pushed a stroller down the road past us, has constantly tried to make her chase me in her favorite game, and just been silly. She's been great to ride for the most part, until recently. She thought we were going to jump but I moved them all up, so she shut down. We tried to go on a hack, and reared at a fence post. I attempted dressage yesterday and she took off like a racer, and kept trying to bolt. She vetoed every other form of riding, my mom was like, you took away the hope, as long as jumps were there she could hope, and was good, but now they are gone. Turned out she was right, I had nothing else to do but set up my ghetto jumps and have at it. And she was a FREAKING NINJA! Never hesitated, was perfectly balanced, listened to my every move and was just so freaking powerful. She never tried with a single jump, she was literally jumping for joy. Its the happiest I think she has ever been, and she didn't take off from a long spot at all and cleared a pretty high jump, idk how high, my cones are new =] She hasn't been over 2 feet in 3 months, and she's just beasting over 2'6'' plus. So proud of her, no backing off, no wavering, nothing. Pure happiness. I love her, and I am SO happy that she loves this sport, its not about what height we make it, but the fact that she wants to go compete SO badly. She's a little star. =] She is also growing like a weed and is now 16.2 I think, and might end up being bigger than Red! HUGE PONY! Show in October? Maybe, depends on a LOT of stuff, but I hope so! And yup, it really is, big news coming up in a few days ;DDDD And Tex gets to be ridden for the first time since his surgery tomorrow! =] So very happy atm, just wish college wasn't as stressful! lol. And idk, the weather is truly horrid 99% of the time haha. So its def. a catch 22.

She really is, she's back to her normal self now, haha =] Going to jump her again this weekend, hopefully schooling away ;D Very excited about that, and they are doing good, Tex just got his stitches out, yay!
