The following is the transcript of President George W. Bush's -
Message to the Iraqi People - dated April 10, 2003:
"This is George W Bush, the President of the United States. At this moment, the regime of Saddam Hussein is being removed from power, and a long era of fear and cruelty is ending. American and coalition forces are now operating inside Baghdad and we will not stop until Saddam's corrupt gang is gone. The government of Iraq, and the future of your country, will soon belong to you.
The goals of our coalition are clear and limited. We will end a brutal regime, whose aggression and weapons of mass destruction make it a unique threat to the world. Coalition forces will help maintain law and order, so that Iraqis can live in security. We will respect your great religious traditions, whose principles of equality and compassion are essential to Iraq's future. We will help you build a peaceful and representative government that protects the rights of all citizens. And then our military forces will leave. Iraq will go forward as a unified, independent and sovereign nation that has regained a respected place in the world.
The United States and its coalition partners respect the people of Iraq. We are taking unprecedented measures to spare the lives of innocent Iraqi citizens, and are beginning to deliver food, water and medicine to those in need. Our only enemy is Saddam's brutal regime and that regime is your enemy as well.
In the new era that is coming to Iraq, your country will no longer be held captive to the will of a cruel dictator. You will be free to build a better life, instead of building more palaces for Saddam and his sons; free to pursue economic prosperity without the hardship of economic sanctions; free to travel and speak your mind; free to join in the political affairs of Iraq. And all the people who make up your country Kurds, Shi'a, Turkomans, Sunnis, and others will be free of the terrible persecution that so many have endured.
The nightmare that Saddam Hussein has brought to your nation will soon be over. You are a good and gifted people the heirs of a great civilisation that contributes to all humanity. You deserve better than tyranny and corruption and torture chambers. You deserve to live as free people. And I assure every citizen of Iraq: your nation will soon be free."

More than 5 years later... the Iraqi People have every right to wonder if they will ever 'truly be free' !

  • Thanks to our awesome troops and President Bush, 50, 000,000 people are freed from terror, a cruel dictator and his rapists sons are dead, 14,400 people are running for office (4,000 of them women) this week, and less than 1/10th of the murderers/terrorists remain!! TIME TO CELEBRATE AN UNPRECEDENTED VICTORY!!! :)

  • Considering the decades of support that the United States provided to Saddam Hussein's Regime (to the detriment of the Iraqi People)... perhaps the only thing that should be 'celebrated' is the hypocrisy of the United States !

Check out warnewstoday for a realistic appreciation of how well things are going in Iraq.

The deaths of more than 4,000 American Military Personnel or 1,300,000 Iraqi Civilians is not a 'victory' worthy of pride !!!

  • Shame on you bush and America " The champions of peace". And also shame on you the people of America who don't raise their voices against such kind of cruelty of their government.

  • @smallyb2009 Thats a fucked up a comment. Bush used his power improperly.. and a few people in the military here and there were ruthless as well.. but that is not our image, at least it shouldnt be. So many times America has sent squads to train individuals of specific countries to liberate themselfs... Its fucked up that some people abuse power, and your country is no better than mine, tell me youve no devil drunk on power running around out there..... and I will call you a liar...

  • @pathway2peace Nice vid touching. but the words dont match. Youve been brainwashed dude, like so many others. Sure alot of people were saved. But the numerous deaths. is sickening. Bush was friggin evil man. Get that through your head. And besides all of that... even if that was our approach, even if he did try what you portray.. without the dumb shit involved.. it still wouldnt have worked, its not our home.. were not wanted ... we shouldnt help israel, or be in the middle east. I AM American..

  • ATTENTION! Are you mentally unstable?Would you like to join a bunch of trigger happy psychopaths to invade oil rich Countries were you,ll be free to bomb the homes of innocent people,Torture & humiliate them,Rape young girls & if your a typical hillbilly young boys,Murder as many innocent Men,Women & Children as you please & even be called a "Hero" for doing it,If your answer is yes then dont delay! Join the american military murder machine in Iraq Today! Decent human beings need NOT Apply.

  • @tash119 that should have been a priority for the new president

  • You seem to me like a schizophrenic republican all he did was kill innocent people on both sides. He and his fellow associates should be tried for war crimes and be given the highest punishment. Let those dogs be given a proper treatment.

  • I guess you're part of the 13% of Americans that still supported, who the world calls the biggest war criminal of current time, George Bush despite him killing over a hundred thousand people. I guess some people will believe what they want to believe regardless of what happens.
