Well, what can i say...

I'll just give you the facts:

Here are the Spa set dancers dancing the cavan reel set on 26/4/08 in the INEC Killarney, with this performance winning them another All-Ireland Scor title.

Making it 5 YEARS IN A ROW!!!!
What an achievement.
Never has it been done before & will probably NEVER be done again.

The musicians are:

Damien Mullane - accordian
Dessie Kelliher - Banjo
I must get name of keyboard player yet!!!

This is an amature video but i will put up the official video as soon as it comes out!!

  • It looks like they skipped the advance and cross over move near the beginning of the second figure. Is that a normal variation?

    Either way, wonderful dancing!

  • @adrianobradaigh Adrian- I met your father many years ago before the 1978 fleadh. In 2002 I stayed with the late Fred Rice whom I am sure you knew. I live in Indiana but was wondering if you still have copies of your dad's book of his compositions. I would love to purchase a copy if possible.

  • It's like a video game.

  • Uh, why did you name the musicians but not the dancers?

  • Black pat's is one class tune (2.50 - 3.36)

  • @Ciaran08

The mountains of pomerey. A rebel and love song set in County Tyrone.

  • It is very obvious that the only dancing you have ever done is with the pen you write with! This was a brilliant performance with excellent dancers!!!

  • anyone got a name for that march they play as the dancers come on ?

  • Perfect timing! Perfect dancing!... The BEST!

  • That reel is called 'The Reel of Sceachóg' and was written by John Brady from Co. Offaly. To be fair it's often called Siobhán O'Donnell's too but now you have the right name!
