Medicare was created bc it is not possible for a for profit health insurance company to provide health care coverage with charging very expensive premiums.....the same foes for health care coverage for our veterans.....do you have any idea how expensive premiums for an 80 year old person would be if a for profit health insurance company wanted to provide that coverage ?

Wrong again OBOT rebjiii. If the Supreme Court should rule the Mandate is constitutional (a thought that is very disturbing) there are penalities built in to punish those people who do not purchase health insurance. No one said anything about going to jail. This stupid bill will make individuals purchase health insurance or pay a penalty. The IRS will ensure the penalty is paid by confiscating the tax refund for those people who do not buy health insurance (ObamaCare).

rebjiii, you know good and well why these social programs were created in the first place. They were not created to help people but to make them dependent on Big Government and the Democrat Party. While many people have benefited from the programs, the primary reason for creating them was to rein in the masses to the Democrats.
