  • It's interesting how people just brush this camera aside before really getting to know it and know how the functions on this camera work. I have both the D700 and the D300s and honestly I love the D300s a lot more. Using a tripod, using the AE-L lock button can do wonders for the video mode....it's all about knowing how to use the camera and when you do you can do so much with it.

  • this camera is way better than the d300 not considering the d300s's video mode, just everything

  • The only reason I will buy a D300s is the 2 memory slots and the additional 1fps not due to the video function.

    If you want a SLR with video mode I will recommend to wait the "next generation" because the first one are DSLR with the addition of video functions. If you need a camera with good video mode then try Panasonic Lumix GH1 (but this camera has no mirror).

  • That's terrible Auto Focus in Video Mode. And video quality itself is still bad.

    Thanks for Video. Now I know that I don't need to upgrade from my D300.
