My god, these journalists are using the worst reasoning I've ever seen. First he concedes that Lincoln didn't fight the war to end slavery, then asks Dr. Paul how long Lincoln was supposed to allow slavery to continue? What? He is essentially saying that although Lincoln did not invade the South to end slavery, the War killing 600,000 was justified because he DID end slavery. And Dr. Paul is asking why 600,000 needed to die when they could have ended slavery peacefully like every other nation.

they're both missing the main point here: yes ron paul is right in that lincoln was for or against slaver but shuster is right that the civil war was necessary because if lincoln made slavery illegal the south would become its own union and attack the north so actually ron paul is wrong because the south would've broke off and lincoln wanted america to stay as one...understand?

"the real lincoln" is a truth taught by many professors and historians. it goes a lil against the mainstream but it actually seems very true. He denied amendments to end slavery. I don't think he was for or against it; just another typical politician that'll say whatever it takes to get yr vote

Im Black, and i was always had my suspicions about lincoin. I swear Shuter and that other arrogant dickhead no nothing about objective history, they read into thing that fit there agenda. I find it funny that Shuter did acknowledge that quote from Lincoin about slavery but countiuned to say that Ron was wrong, and Lincoin was a great man. Ive heard that Lincoin did want to send ALL blacks to Africa, and ran onthat issue in his campaign. Im glad that fucking hack shuter was sent packing.
