I have just bought a second hand HP Pavilion DV 9000 laptop. It has Windows Vista Home Premium without any service packs installed. This is an old laptop as it was made in 2007. Because now, you must have Service Pack 2 installed in Windows Vista in order to get updates. But I have had problems with this laptop. And now I have the blue screen of death. So it is not working.

  • best option is to change the hardrive, is very easy. just buy a used one and change them. it will work

  • But I do not have that laptop now. I got rid of it. Because I was told from what it would cost to buy and have a new hard drive put in.I might as well buy a new laptop. And the laptop was second hand anyway. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman well in that case its alright. by the way great videos, i subscribed

  • Well I do not have that laptop any more. Because I was told that it would cost too much money to repair it. So I got rid of the laptop. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman .. All you have to do is look it up..

Type into a browser search 'Access HP recovery partition' and select the EHOW page. It tells you how in simple and easy to understand terms.. Even you should be able to follow them..

Re Vista.. it works fine with the service packs. Re-install Vista as per the link I gave, and then install both service packs

  • Well my only experience with Windows Vista has been with that laptop, I told viewers about in the video. But as that laptop was second hand and not working properly.I cannot really judge Vista based on one experience with an old laptop. If I could try Vista on a newer laptop with better hardware it may run better. But it is difficult to find Windows Vista laptops in the shops now. They are mostly Windows 7. Andrea Borman.

  • Well I took the laptop to the repair shop. And the repair man told me that the hard drive had gone. And it would have cost me nearly as much as what I paid for the laptop to have it repaired. So I did not have it repaired. And I don't have the laptop now as it was not working. And would have cost too much to repair it. Andrea Borman.

  • i don't know how to re-install windows with a without a recovery disk but i know how to make and use them.

  • @andrea22borman the 2 best operating systems in my opinion is Windows XP and Windows 7. i hated Vista.
