Atheist here.
Damn good video. Science and religion are two completely separate things.
You also make a valid point about Evolution not saying anything about christianity.
NO WHERE does "On the Origin of species" say anything about any religion.
I disagree with religion, but NOT because of Evolution.

No Adam......No Garden of Eden........No original sin......No need for Jesus.

1) this type of video inadvertently breeds a certain type of culture ignorant to knowledge.
due to science being vewwy scary people resort to blocking out actual facts only to find
hearsay about scientific discoveries from peers
2) evolution by default poses a threat to the creationism views due to the creationist lack of understanding that the age of this planet is approximately older than 3 million years and that during that time period evolution occurred first at the micro level & beyond.

people do not try to disprove god by evolution, it is the other way around by disproving evolution they say it proves god did it
Proving evolution does refute a literal reading of the bible
While your point, that evolution is not an essential part of Christianity, might be a common one. I don't personally agree.
Genesis is central to Christianity. When such a thing is demonstrably wrong, this is a problem. If Eve didn't really pick the apple (ie, it is metaphor) then where is the justice in really punishing people for original sin or requiring their salvation? Why must I be tortured eternally over a metaphor?

"Why must I be tortured eternally over a metaphor?"
Taking Genesis metaphorically, one is not being "punished" for the sins of Adam, but rather for their own sin. All genesis is is a metaphor (if you want to go that route) for a place in time when mankind inherited a sinful nature. However, Christianity is not dependent on a single interpretation of Genesis, but rather the cross.
